AFCEA Space Coast, in partnership with the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD), hosted Florida’s first Space Procurement Administrative Lead Time (PALT) event, May 13.

The hybrid event, offered both in-person and virtually, was designed to broaden access for stakeholders across the nation who are interested in supporting the U.S. Space Force’s acquisition efforts.

The event provided a unique platform for industry representatives to engage directly with acquisition leaders and gain clearer insight into how their capabilities can support mission requirements.

Walt Jackim, deputy program executive officer for Space Launch Delta 45, shared insights into the U.S. Space Force’s acquisition strategy, mission priorities and opportunities for industry collaboration.

This event builds on prior discussions held at SpaceCom in December 2024 regarding Department of Defense (DoD) and civil space acquisition, reinforcing ongoing efforts to strengthen communication between government and industry in support of national security and space initiatives.

Tony Brown, president of the AFCEA Space Coast Chapter, highlighted the significance of bringing the PALT event to Florida, a state with an expanding footprint in the defense and space sectors.

“Bringing the first Space PALT to Florida reflects the strength of our growing defense and space industry community,” Brown said. “Our chapter is committed to creating platforms where meaningful engagement happens—where industry can hear directly from acquisition leaders and understand how to align their capabilities with mission needs.”

The next hybrid Space PALT event is scheduled for July 8, with the in-person session to be held at Central Florida Tech Grove.
