The U.S. Army’s Development Command Soldier Center Orlando and the University of Central Florida will host a signing ceremony to mark a new five-year Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA). The ceremony will take place at the Orange County Convention Center during the annual Interservice/Industry, Training, Simulation and Education Conference on November 30, 2021 at 2:45 pm.

This cooperative research effort between the Army and academia explores research areas of mutual benefit and promotes meaningful research engagements. The CRADA will provide the Army with innovative science and technology solutions to optimize the performance of our Nations warfighters, and perform substantial research applicable to high-risk civilian occupations for components and integrated systems providing protection and sustainment.

This effort provides students at UCF the opportunity to intern with the Army providing an unsurpassed opportunity in the development of science, engineering, mathematics, or information technology. The two organizations benefit mutually through the sharing of laboratory space, capabilities, equipment, human research resources and the development of course materials.

Outreach and mentoring the next generation of scientists and engineers is a vital part of the mission of DEVCOM Soldier Center. Research agreements like this provide the Army with potential new talent, helping to fuel innovative ideas that benefit the nation’s warfighters and the nation as a whole. DEVCOM Soldier Center is part of DEVCOM. Through collaboration across the command’s core technical competencies, DEVCOM leads in the discovery, development and delivery of the technology-based capabilities required to make Soldiers more lethal to win our nation’s wars and come home safely.
