The HIRE Vets Medallion Award is the only federal-level recognition specifically designed to celebrate employers who demonstrate exemplary practices in veteran employment. The HIRE Vets Medallion Award was established under the Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans (HIRE Vets) Act of 2017. Recipients are evaluated using rigorous criteria, including veteran hiring and retention rates, the availability of veteran-specific resource groups, leadership and mentorship programs, dedicated human resources initiatives, and benefits such as tuition assistance and competitive compensation designed to help Veterans succeed in the workplace.
