Carley Corporation announced it has been awarded a subcontract to support the U.S. Air Force C-5 Training System. The contract comes to Carley through its joint venture, CTE II JV with Engineering Support Personnel, Inc. (ESP) and as a subcontract partner to CymSTAR. The total contract value is $150 million and extends support to 2034.

The new contract continues the CTE JV’s support to the Air Force C-5 training maintenance program, where the JV was previously the prime contractor. The new contract combines the excellence of the CymSTAR team and CTE II JV and other partners to provide ongoing training and maintenance support.

“We are extremely pleased to continue working with CymSTAR and all the partners on the C-5 Training System,” said Amy Motko, CEO of Carley Corp. and the CTE II JV. “Our dedication is always to the warfighter, and our support in this critical area is a top priority. Working with the partners on this program ensures the men and women in the Air Force who work on the C-5 programs receive exceptional training and maintenance support.”

The new contract includes a transition period followed by nine option years, ensuring sustained training excellence for pilots, flight engineers, loadmasters and maintenance personnel.

Under the contract, the CymSTAR team will continue to:

  • Operate and maintain C-5 training devices, including simulators.
  • Provide aircrew and maintenance instruction.
  • Develop and update courseware.
  • Manage concurrency, ensuring training devices remain aligned with aircraft modernization programs.

The project team will provide training at multiple U.S. sites, including the C-5 Formal Training Unit at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas, as well as Dover Air Force Base (AFB), Travis AFB, and Westover ARB. The Agile Combat Support Directorate Simulators Division at the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, manages the program for the Air Force.

“We are honored to continue supporting the U.S. Air Force with proven, reliable, and unmatched training capabilities for the C-5M Super Galaxy fleet,” said Daniel Marticello, president and CEO of CymSTAR. “This award recognizes our team’s dedication, expertise and partnership with the Air Force. We remain fully committed to delivering innovative solutions that prepare aircrews and maintainers for mission success today and into the future.”

As a top tier subcontractor to CymSTAR, the CTE II JV will work with the other partners to deliver innovative training and maintenance support to the Air Force to ensure seamless, mission-ready training across all sites.
