The 2024 Department of the Air Force Modeling & Simulation Summit (DAFMSS) will take place in San Antonio, Texas, from May 7 to May 9.

Richard Tempalski, the Department of the Air Force’s chief modeling and simulation (M&S) officer, and Air Force Lt. Gen. Brian Robinson, commander of the Air Education Training Command, will host the three-day conference. The theme, “Training in a Digital World,” will feature the Air Force’s efforts to improve its workforce’s proficiency via digital training.

DAFMSS seeks to gather M&S professionals from across the Air Force and Space Force to discover new initiatives and applications, establish a networking forum for military, industry and academic experts to share ideas, and give attendees insights from technology leaders on transforming training from the real, “analog” world, to the digital world through modeling and simulation.

This summit will feature prominent figures from the M&S community who will participate in keynote presentations and panel discussions, an extensive industry exhibit hall, and a classified M&S briefing (more information to be released later), among other events. International attendance and participation are limited to NATO allies and members of the Five Eyes Alliance.

The exhibit hall will spotlight several M&S advances, with demonstrations featuring multiple technologies including healthcare simulations and artificial intelligence, as well as VR, MR, XR and AR. Mission-focused content will highlight areas such as warfighter integration, digital engineering and human/machine teaming, in addition to others.
