Experience API Version 1.0.0 Released

An important milestone was achieved on April 26, marking the release of the 1.0.0 version of the Experience API (xAPI) specification. Numerous contributors from the distributed learning community had a hand in shaping and authoring this new spec. The authoritative 1.0.0 version of the xAPI document currently resides on ADL’s GitHub site. A PDF file that represents a “snapshot” of the authoritative specification as of April 26 is available for download on ADLnet.gov.

Learning App Challenge 2013 Launched

The objective of this year’s App Challenge is for contestants to create an App that will help students acquire knowledge and understanding by manipulating tasks, simulations, or situations that promote critical thinking. Judging criteria include: Providing a learning solution to a stated problem, Technical quality of the App, Usability, and Innovation. Winners will be invited to demonstrate their entry during the Interagency Mobile Learning Webinar Series to be held July 16-18, 2013. ADL is co-hosting the event. Submissions are being accepted May 1 to June 16, and there is no cost for participating in the Challenge. For additional information, visit the Learning App Challenge page on ADLnet.gov.
