In February, Central Florida residents and future technologists gathered to learn from academic and industry leaders during NeoCity’s Community STEM Day. Based in Kissimmee, Florida, NeoCity is an emerging technology hub — and a UCF partner — dedicated to manufacturing and innovating smart sensors, optics and photonics.
During the event, UCF researchers in education, engineering, and modeling and simulation led interactive experiences teaching participants about advanced technologies. K-12 students engaged in activities like video games introducing microprocessor manufacturing, virtual reality headsets simulating aviation, augmented reality devices showcasing complex machinery and a wire maze demonstrating electronic design automation.
