Orlando is home to one of the most well-respected modeling and simulation (M&S) schools in the nation. University of Central Florida (UCF), which offers Master of Science and Ph.D. degrees as part of its graduate programs, recently announced that it will be waiving the application fee for its Ph.D. program when applicants submit an completed application by Nov 30, 2022. It is the only institution to integrate disciplines from six different schools into the M&S learning experience. The comprehensive approach enables students to explore every aspect of the technology and its impact on the human experience.
Graduates of the School of Modeling, Simulation and Training (SMST) become experts in modeling approaches, human-centric simulations, immersive computing environments and visual representation. They learn to solve complex problems by building models, designing and carrying out experiments, collecting data, analyzing results and managing M&S programs. With more than 15 labs and studios at the School’s Institute for Simulation and Training, students augment their learning experience in the classroom by supporting leading-edge research.
At SMST, innovation combined with strong government and private partnerships creates technology and projects that support our national security, cutting-edge manufacturing, space and education. A new project, called MemoryScan, is even bringing memories back to life through virtual technologies.
Many students who are current and former military find MS&T a satisfying career that supports their values and maintains strong bonds established throughout their careers. Some of the industry’s most- influential leaders have graduated the UCF program and either built thriving careers in Orlando – the world hub of MS&T – or accepted positions throughout the world.
