JANUS’s geographically dispersed team operating in Austin, Texas and Ft Eustis, VA, will execute a broad range of support activities and discrete tasks along three lines of effort (LOEs):
– Develop Army concepts to transform how the future force could operate, equip, and organize (Army Concepts Division)
– Inform Joint concepts and wargames with Army expertise, capabilities, and emerging concept ideas (Joint Concepts Division)
JANUS will provide support services to execute the mission to develop the U.S. Army’s vision of future conflict and leads concept development and assessment in order to provide the foundation for the design and development of the Army’s future force.
JANUS will provide personnel who have expert knowledge of Army and Joint operations at the strategic, operational, and tactical levels to properly assess future concepts and application of emerging technologies to concepts. JANUS’ work with the Joint Concepts Division will advance the operational effectiveness of the future joint force and by working with the team to enable the introduction of new capabilities by identifying military implications of the future operating environment, developing joint concepts and white papers, leading joint wargaming to evaluate concepts during development, and helping to oversee the joint concept development community of interest.
ABOUT THE DIRECTORATE OF CONCEPTS (DoC), ARMY CONCEPTS DIVISION (ACD) AND JOINT CONCEPT DIVISION (JCD)
FCC is a subordinate organization of U.S. Army Futures Command (AFC). FCC develops future concepts, requirements, and an integrated modernization pathway to increase lethality and
