In a recent addition to I/ITSEC 2023, Marine Lt. Col. Wynndee Young, program manager for the Marine Corps Systems Command’s Program Manager Wargaming Capability, will update attendees on the Marine Corps’ progress in advanced wargaming development.

The brief, not listed on the I/ITSEC agenda, is Nov. 29 in Room W202B from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. It will focus on advances in the Marine Corps’ PIONEER Wargaming Capability and the development of the General Robert B. Neller Center for Wargaming and Analysis, currently under construction at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia.

The Neller Center, named after the Marine Corps’ 37th commandant, is expected to be fully operational in late 2025. It will provide senior leadership with a state-of-the-art venue to wargame within future operating environments at multiple classification levels to examine complex problems and support decision-making. The center will feature an integration of advanced technologies involving modeling & simulation, data collection & visualization, as well as analytics & assessment, among others, in a secure environment that can access highly classified information.

Professionals in the modeling and simulation space are encouraged to attend the brief to continue effective collaboration between government and industry sectors in wargaming efforts and the future development of facilities like the Neller Center.
