Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) / Naval Support Activity (NSA) Orlando Announces Change of Command

Capt. Tim James will transfer command of the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) and Naval Support Activity (NSA) Orlando to Capt. Robert Betts during a change of command ceremony at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 15, in the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, 445 S Magnolia Ave, Orlando, FL 32801.

James has served as the Commanding Officer of NAWCTSD since June 15, 2023.  Previously James served as the Executive Officer of NAWCTSD/NSA Orlando, Deputy Program Manager for Unmanned Carrier Aviation (UCA) Program Office’s UCA Mission Control System and Military Deputy Director of Cross Warfare Programs at NAWCTSD.

Betts has served as the Executive Officer of NAWCTSD since June 15, 2023. Betts gained experience in naval aviation and acquisition whiles serving as a Naval Aviator with Strike Fighter Squadron 41, Program Manager for F-35 Training Systems and Simulation and various other leadership roles within the F-35 program.

NAWCTSD, located within the Central Florida Research Park at NSA Orlando, serves as the Navy’s primary center for developing modeling, simulation, and training systems technologies for a wide range of military programs. NSA Orlando serves as the home base for the NAWCTSD.
