This year, in addition to the annual scholarships to students entering or attending the University of Central Florida (UCF) and Daytona State College, NCS awarded five $1,000 scholarships to high school students in Orange and Seminole counties to help offset the costs of tuition and/or books as they enter an accredited Florida College, University or Technical School.
Those scholarship winners are:
Amber R. Pearson, University High School
Robert F. Burke, Hagerty High School
James R. Henderson, Lyman High School
Melinda I. Ramos, Timber Creek High School
Martin A. Austin, Crooms Academy of Information Technology
In addition to those new scholarships being awarded, NCS also presented Oculus Rift Virtual Reality Headsets for use in the STEM classes at Corner Lake Middle School; Timber Creek, University, Hagerty and Lyman High Schools; and Crooms Academy of Information Technology.
NCS enjoys a long and special relationship with each of these schools and has supported their STEM program as a means to get students excited about M&S and a possible career in the simulation industry.
