One of Team Orlando’s biggest advocates, particularly in the areas of STEM and Serious Gaming, Sara Au, was the recipient of the 2015 Adele Graham Award, presented by Orange County Public Schools.

Au has been the OCPS District Partners in Education (PIE) Coordinator since 2010, connecting schools and businesses, including Team Orlando. The award is named after Florida’s former First Lady Adele Graham, and her desire that all school districts have an organized school volunteer program.

“Sara has played an important role in connecting Team Orlando and OCPS, and helping us building a beneficial relationship,” said Kent Gritton, Joint Integration and Evaluation Center director. “Personally, there are several examples that come to mind, but I am especially grateful to her for her guidance and support as we moved forward with OCPS’s involvement with Serious Games Showcase & Challenge, and their initial and on-going commitment to their students’ participation.”

Au was recognized for her leadership and sustained support of the school volunteer program, where she leads more than 200 school-based coordinators and 1,200 community partners.
