Brad Spearing graduated from Auburn University with a B.S. in mechanical engineering in 1982 and began a journey that gave him years of experience developing and improving government-owned computer simulations. By 1989, he realized that a commercial company had a better chance of creating simulations of greater capability without government sponsorship and he founded Ternion with two engineering colleagues. Since then, he has been Ternion's president and the chief architect of its commercial software products, including its flagship family of products, the FLAMES® constructive simulation framework.
