Dr. Kristy Murray is the director of the Advanced Distributed Learning Co-Laboratories and oversees the operations at the Co-lab in Alexandria, VA. Her primary mission is to support and assist the federal government and Services as they integrate ADL standards and emerging technologies into their programs. In support of this mission, the ADL Initiative conducts outreach, research, and prototype development.
The objective is to provide a collaborative environment in which government, academia, and industry can share best practices and lessons learned to improve distributed learning in the Department of Defense, other Federal Agencies and with our Allied Partners. “I feel very lucky to be able to do what I do in a research and development environment,” Murray says. On her location here in Orlando, Murray says, “We’re fortunate to be in Research Park with our service partners who are also doing things that create new ways to train and transition that information into a real, operational program. There’s a talented pool of people to pick from here in a high-tech workforce that we can pull employees from. As far as the future of ADL, she plans to continue to take advantage of all new learning technology available and ensure superior warfighter training.
