Team Orlando Celebrates National Take Your Sons and Daughters to Work Day
TOPICS & CATEGORIES
On May 4, Team Orlando recognized the national Take Your Sons and Daughters to Work Day in conjunction with the commemorative Star Wars Day by welcoming teammates and their families to the Naval Air Warfare Center Training System Division (NAWCTSD) base for the largest Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day to date with over 720 participants. Activities kicked off with opening remarks from the local service leads, followed by a group photo and activities throughout the Team Orlando campus.
Take our Daughters and Sons to Work Day provides children opportunities to explore and learn about the meaningful role that NAWCTSD, Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI) and other Team Orlando partners play in supporting the United States Department of Defense.
The National Center for Simulation (NCS) opened STARBASE Central Florida to host the STEM Academy Family Challenge as part of the festivities and PEO STRI showcased the Bradley Fighting Vehicle Simulator.
After remarks from leadership, families divided and conquered their missions to experience everything from testing out the flight simulator to learning how to make mini light sabers. Families also had a rare opportunity to check out the Fabrication lab and see the Dome Room and MRTS 3D®.
