Since 2006, the (O)rlando Elec(tron)ic (I)nteractive Entertainment (Con)vention, better known as OTRONICON, has explored the science, art, technology, careers and fun behind simulation, robotics, video games, virtual reality and digital media. This year, Jan. 13-16, multiple industry partners including Team Orlando members, will gather at the Orlando Science Center to celebrate how digital media technologies impact the way we live, learn, work and play.
This event aims to spark interest in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) careers through the appeal of simulation, interactive technology, video games, and virtual reality. OTRONICON promotes the innovation that is happening in our own backyard by providing unprecedented access to the creative professionals and technology that calls Central Florida home. Orlando is one of the largest digital media and simulation clusters in the country, which includes more than 1,200 companies, 30,000 creative specialists and estimated annual revenue of $9 billion.
OTRONICON is not only for kids; adults like it too! It engages visitors in STEM experiences through a diverse selection of offerings. From workshops on designing your own avatar to keynote speakers, to panels with industry experts, visitors of all ages will enjoy learning about today’s cutting edge technology and trends.
