Continuing to reach out and partner with organizations all throughout the Central Florida region, Team Orlando participated in the Orange Technical College (OTC) STEM Expo on February 24, 2017.
The STEM Expo is an event where major simulation and hi-tech companies engage high school and middle school students from Orange County Public Schools (OCPS) to demonstrate the connection between STEM-focused academics and career paths that lead to high-skill, high-wage employment in the ever-growing and expanding Central Florida economy. More than one thousand students and teachers participated through local high and middle school registration.
Expo demonstrations included robotics, medical technology, gaming interaction, motion capture experiences, virtual reality, simulators and simulation.
Frank Dean, Science and Technology Manager at the Army Research Laboratory, has worked with the OTC STEM Expo since its inception and was there to spread the Army Research Lab message and to explain how the Army Education Outreach Program supports STEM here in Florida. He works closely with Alan Lynch, OTC’s program director for game/simulation and animation work.
