Tech Grove Connect will host the interactive webinar, “Optimizing Optimizations: How a Novel Algorithm Delivers Optimality and Speed of Relevance,” on April 14, 2022.
Webinar speakers will be Matthew McLaughlin, lead computer scientist for the U.S. Army Fires Battle Lab, and Dr. Jeremy Lanman, chief technology officer for U.S. Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation.
Software computation should ideally be instantaneous, but processing time is an inherent side effect of computation. In time-sensitive situations, such as moving targets in shooting training scenarios, processing time has a negative impact on performance and training outcomes.
A primary focus in recent years has been optimization algorithms to address this issue, but the optimization increases computational processing time. What if an optimizer was tunable and trainable, and it could be adapted to the parameters of the software environment?
McLaughlin and Lanman will discuss how the meta-optimizer is a step toward achieving software optimality and speed of relevance. McLaughlin’s work was selected as the I/ITSEC 2021 Best Paper nominee in the Emerging Concepts & Innovative Technologies subcommittee.
Registration is open and complimentary, but space is limited. To register, to go: https://www.ntsa.org/events/2022/4/14/tech-grove-connect-april-webinar.
