JF Taylor Inc. (JFTI), a provider of advanced mission and training systems for the U.S. Department of Defense, announced it has been awarded a contract supporting the Naval Avionics Platform Integration Emulator (NAPIE), a flexible platform integration capability designed to accelerate the rapid prototyping, integration and flight testing of emerging aviation technologies on military platforms.

“We are excited to continue our support of the development and deployment of NAPIE flight test systems that advance military aviation capabilities,” said Chris Wasniak, chief operating officer at JF Taylor. “JFTI is proud to contribute technologies that enhance mission effectiveness, strengthen readiness and support the safety of our warfighters.

As part of the contract, JFTI will provide support for a range of NAPIE efforts, including the Joint Precision Approach and Landing System (JPALS), MQ-25 Stingray, AN/APN-246 and Aerial Refueling Store integration activities.

The effort supports the organic Lead Systems Integrator® (oLSI®) effort of the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Webster Outlying Field (WOLF) Airborne Systems Integration (ASI) Division. The oLSI® model combines government and industry expertise to rapidly develop, integrate and evaluate new technologies for airborne platforms.

NAPIE provides a quick-disconnect platform interface that enables rapid integration of new technologies while allowing aircraft to be returned to their original configuration when needed. The capability helps reduce airworthiness risks during flight testing and supports faster evaluation of new systems and concepts.

Under the oLSI® model, the NAWCAD WOLF ASI Division oversees the technical planning, design, design, development, prototyping, integration and testing of NAPIE and related surrogate systems.
